Aims and Scope

Writing is creative, emotional, powerful, concrete, timeless, beautiful, and let’s face it, difficult. That is why Fine Lines wants to celebrate your literary achievements — whether great or small — and our journal is a means of doing so. As a non-profit publication, we pride ourselves in offering a creative outlet to not only Nebraskans but people from all over the nation. Our audience is diverse and our topics varying; consequently, we give our readers a taste of many different walks of life. It is our goal as a production team to give our readers a quality collection of poems, fiction, non-fiction, manuscripts, art, and other mediums in one convenient publication. We give writers, new or veteran, a chance to be nationally published. If you have been already, you know how exciting it can be to see your very own words in print. The ability to be published is a powerful tool we offer our community; after all, if it is not written down, it will be forgotten.

In addition, Fine Lines wants to branch out into other areas, including building an online store and creating more awareness of our growing writers' workshops and summer writing camps. Finally, Fine Lines also wants to encourage writers to strive for excellence, and that is why we offer this style guide. It serves as a reference tool for editing, as well as for questions or concerns you may have. Use this guide at your convenience, and keep writing!
